The Stag is one of Hastings’ premier venues for live music, The pub has a long-established tradition of folk and acoustic music, which we are delighted to continue alongside a wealth of Americana, Indie and country-tinged acts. Our live weekend bands combine the best of the considerable pool of local talent with exciting visiting acts. Keep it live, keep it free.

Mondays - The Stag Quiz Night - booking required
8pm start
Come and face the challenge if you dare. An anarchic night of quiz questions from published Quizmaster (and landlord) Nick Holt. There is lively banter and occasional irreverence. It’s rarely the same, it’s never too easy, and it’s always a blast. Even the loser wins. Booking required - maximum six per team, £2 per person.
Tuesdays - Folk sessions
8pm - 10pm
The Stag Tuesday folk session has been around for forty years or so. Anyone can sit around the table with the regulars or stand up and sing a song. You’ll find the locals are never shy of doing so and newcomers are guaranteed a warm welcome. Or you can just grab a seat, enjoy a beer and watch.

First Wednesday of the month
Americana & Bluegrass session, 9pm
Second Wednesday of the month
Book Club, 7pm - 9pm
Third Wednesday of the month
Board games evening!
Thursdays (3rd and 4th of the month)
8:30pm - 11pm
The third Thursday of the month sees a wonderful A Capella sing-a-round hosted by Rattlebag. Come along and share a song in this intimate space, or just listen to the voices around you.
The fourth Thursday sees Liz & Rob host their Blues & Folk Club. Musicians, singers and audience all warmly welcomed. Come as strangers and leave as friends.
Friday
Regular Friday features include Tasting Suppers, Laughing Stag Comedy Club, Vinyl Club, An Audience with … (interviews with local musicians). Keep your eye on our Facebook page for details.
Weekends
